- Plan and prepare to establish and maintain water management system
- Access, interpret and apply water management system documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Access, interpret and analyse organisational goals, objectives and strategies to determine required research
- Investigate and analyse license, worksite environmental conditions and legislation to develop options, strategies and anticipated outcomes

Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient establishing and maintenance of water management systems including:accessing and using information management technologiesaccessing, reading and interpreting survey plansinterpreting geological and hydrological dataevaluating new and used equipmentidentifying and applying people and processes management techniquesidentifying and applying negotiation techniques preparing and presenting management reportspreparing operating budgetspreparing tender specificationsapplying conflict resolution techniquesworks effectively with others to undertake and complete the establishing and maintenance of water management systems tasks that meet all the required outcomes including:consulting with internal and external stakeholdersidentifying, allocating, clarifying and communicating roles, responsibilities and targetsusing a range of communication techniques and equipment to convey information to othersissuing and maintaining written and verbal reporting requirements and proceduresorganising work activities to meet task requirementsdeveloping, implementing, communicating and maintaining system proceduresdemonstrates completion of establishing and maintenaning of water management systems that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:identifying, assessing and selecting program componentsidentifying required information and scope of workaccessing, interpreting and analysing research, information and requirementsidentifying and applying strategies and systems to investigate the worksiteensuring worksite environmental investigations are completeddeveloping contingency and site plans and procedures for the systemassessing design of water treatment systemsdeveloping and implementing information and training systemsmonitoring, recording and reporting on system performance
